U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins closed the border to Mexican
cattle, bison and horses after New World screwworm (NWS) was detected within
700 miles of the United States. The import suspension will continue until
containment is achieved, though wildlife movement remains a concern for
potential spread.

USDA will release its May Crop Production and World Agricultural Supply
and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report on Monday, May 12. In the WASDE report,
USDA will take another crack at old-crop demand estimates while simultaneously
flipping the script to 2025-26 with new-crop forecasts.
